I want these refurbed final draft pulp machines, and this ‘bot most especially, to not feel like rehashed campy visions of the future from 1925, but like the actual Jazz Age tech pushed to its sci-fi limits… to impart that impression you get when you peep inside a long-disconnected fuse box left on the wall in the basement of an old apartment building, or crack open a 1920s power tool or a vintage tube radio and see the complicated muddle of brass bits and cloth-sheathed wire.
